Silver Wings is out…

And it’s in an awesome issue of the Future Fire… with THREE Singaporeans. No, we didn’t plan this. 😀

Chap Goh Meh/Yuan Xiao

Yesterday the rains finally came, breaking the heat wave and giving the plants (and humans) much-needed moisture and cool breezes.  Tomorrow will be Chap Goh Meh/Yuan Xiao. It falls on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year and marks the end of the celebrations.

We are finally crossing the threshold into change. Indeed, there is tremendous change (and upheaval) at the moment. I am moving into a period of semi-hiatus/hiatus because things have gotten too hairy. And that I have not been feeling well. Social media simply makes it worse with its lack of empathy and consideration. We have forgotten nuance or scale. Everything and everyone must be either a saint or a monster. We go at each other’s throats without a care for one another.

End of February will also signal change: my 44th birthday.

So, looking forward to change, but rest now.

Bai Tian Gong

Today, the Hokkien diaspora celebrates Bai Tian Gong on the 9th day of the Lunar New Year. The day itself has special significance for Hokkien Chinese.

As usual, Shen Long brings greetings to you all. 🙂

The amazing Gypsy Thornton interviewed me on her blog. I talked about Dragon Dancer, my picturebook under Lantana Publishing. Includes a gorgeous trailer!
